Safety Record

Brown Electric Company devotes substantial resources to ensure a safe work environment for the men and women of the company. The potential environmental impact of working in an industrial environment is a factor in the planning of every project.

Brown Electric Company employs several full time safety professionals who implement and monitor appropriate safety, quality control and environmental programs. These programs include:

  • Daily safety planning
  • Weekly safety meetings
  • Routine safety audits
  • Drug testing through the LEAD program
  • Equipment and material inspection procedures

Brown Electric Company is a participant in the Drug-Free Workplace Initiative sponsored by the State of Ohio. The company is a participant in a Voluntary Protection Program sponsored by OSHA. Brown Electric’s investment in safety has produced the following results:

Workers Compensation Experience Modification Rate (EMR):

  • 2004: 0.87
  • 2005: 0.86
  • 2006: 0.67

OSHA Recordable Injury Frequency Rate:

  • 2004: 1.78
  • 2005: 2.40
  • 2006: 1.61
